WES Limited were recommended to Manchester United Football Club by one of our former clients, to undertake some major steel remedial works to the clubs disabled access areas. The scope of works included steel framework extensions to two areas of the stadium. 1. The Northeast quadrant disabled access area and 2. The Northwest quadrant disabled area. The works also included the design, manufacture, and installation of a NEW seating area for ambulant disabled fans.
Our in-house design team undertook an initial site survey and then produced a full steelwork design, including loading and anchor bolt calculations to ensure compliance with the client requirements. All of the modular steelwork components were then fabricated at our fabrication workshop prior to being NDT tested and galvanised/powder coated by external supply chain.
Once complete, our in-house installation team undertook the installation works to a very tight deadline, during the world cup outage to ensure that no disruption to the club was felt. The works were completed on time and to a very high standard, which resulted in some nice feedback from the client.
We have now also been asked to tender for further works at the club as a preferred supplier.
